Next Generation Digital Services Week in Review: Stagefright, Acision, Facebook and Verizon

Next generation digital service providers clearly have the need for speed, as news in the space is coming fast and furious. The fourth wave is no longer just an idea, with every new announcement, release and development it is cemented as reality. With the weekend upon us, no better time than the present to take a look at the week that was: time for the week in review!

Stagefright, the newest and possibly most formidable security threat to android users, puts over 90 percent of Android at risk. How does it work? Well, in broad strokes, a hacker can send a corrupted MMS to take over your device. Facebook rolled out B2C customer communication options. It started with the recent upgrades and split of the Facebook Messenger app, and now this week Facebook unveiled a service that allows consumers to engage brands via advertising for direct B2C contact. All the details can be found HERE.

Having been in the news more in the past 6 months due to his struggling basketball team, not Cablevision systems, CEO James Dolans doubts a strong future for Pay-TV.
