Somfy Motorization to Showcase Solutions at Upcoming Event

December 28, 2012

Home automation is a new concept gaining popularity and it includes the automation of the home, housework or household activities. Home automation solutions may also provide centralized control of lighting, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), appliances, and other systems. In essence, it offers an enhanced quality of life for users.

Recently, Somfy Systems revealed that it will have its motorization solutions showcased in an interoperability display during the 2013 International CES (News - Alert) event. This display is sponsored by Worthington Distribution at the Z-Wave Alliance in booth # 20800.

The company has joined hands with Worthington Distribution to showcase the value and convenience of Somfy-powered motorized window coverings. These coverings provide additional value to home automation systems. To look after motorized roller shade, lights, thermostats and locks, Worthington's interoperability display at the Z-Wave Alliance will use an HAI controller. This system provides an HAI touchscreen and a motorized roller shade that make use of Somfy's ultra-quiet Sonesse 30 RS485 digital motor.

Rolling shutters by Somfy offer peace of mind and improve users’ lifestyle. Users can complement their home’s decor and get an added measure of security and privacy. They can also protect their home from Mother Nature and secure it automatically.

“We've been promoting Somfy for years though our Worthington University dealer education courses," said Richard Scholl, president of Worthington Distribution, in a statement. "CES gives us the opportunity to share the benefits of home automation systems that feature motorization while proving how simple integrating Somfy-powered products can be.

About a year ago, the company participated in the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world's largest consumer technology tradeshow in Las Vegas, where it unveiled various products and technologies that make comprehensive home automation more intuitive, accessible and compatible in various platforms.
